Cinderella Tree Rosaries- Malawi

Pascar and Pius are identical twin brothers from northern Malawi who learned the art of rosary-making from their devout Catholic grandmother. What began as helping hands grew into a skilled trade they now share with their parish youth group, supporting both their ministry and their education.

These simple rosaries are handcrafted at St. Michael’s Parish in the Diocese of Karonga using local natural materials, including plant twigs and Cinderella seeds. In Malawian culture, the Cinderella tree is deeply respected and woven into local stories and folktales, and its species have long been used in traditional medicine to treat various ailments. Each rosary reflects the faith and hope of their community.
